Chapter 5

Chapter 5

There was a sailing ship sailing through the Sea of Doom.
It looked no different from a normal sailing ship, but its mast, sixteen feet wide, was stained black.
Chaaaaaah.
On the deck of the windswept sailboat stood an old man with hair like a lion’s mane.
It was Liu Lianneng, the patron saint of the Demon Warriors, and the leader of the Ten Demon Warriors’ plan.
“Hmm.”
He spoke in a low voice as he stared off into the distance.
“I don’t understand.”
“What do you mean?”
Bai Zhenchuan, who was following beside him, asked.
“The child named Bu Eunsul.”
“Ah.”
“He doesn’t have strong muscles or even a trace of martial arts training. How dare he defeat someone who has mastered the Silent Soul Dao.”
Liu Lianneng is a master of practical martial arts who has survived countless battles.
But even he couldn’t figure out why Bu Eunsul was able to defeat Liu Yunkang.
“His movements suggest that he already knew the breakthrough formula, which doesn’t make sense.”
Bai Zhen Tian, who was standing next to him, smiled.
“It seems to me that you’ve studied the breakthrough method after seeing the Lingyun River’s sword sword in the training grounds.”
“That can’t be.”
Lian Ning shook his head.
“If he can find the weaknesses of a herbivore just by looking at it, then he must be a cultivator that surpasses the legendary Heavenly Demon Master.”
“No, no. I’m just looking at the fallen.”
“Only old masters with decades of experience in the strongholds can recognize an enemy’s herbivory from their wounds. And even then, they have to be well-versed in the martial arts of the full-scale.”
“That’s right.”
Leng Ning and Bai Zhen Tian were masters with excellent eyesight.
However, they had no idea that Bu Eunsul had been following Miss Bu Zhan since she was a child, studying the signs of the dead.
“Even if he knew the loophole, it would be suicidal for him to counterattack. What if Lingyun Kang had let his guard down and launched one attack after another? It’s impossible to imagine.”
“Didn’t it succeed anyway?”
Bai Zhen Tian laughed heartily.
“Maybe he was gambling with his life.”
“Gambling.”
Liu Lianyung shook his head.
“In a game of life and death, there can be no such thing as luck. There’s definitely something about that kid.”
Though he didn’t say it, Leng Neng seemed dissatisfied that Bu Eun-sul had defeated Liu Yun-kang to become a candidate for the Ten Horsemen.
“Whatever it is, it will be revealed this time.”
Bai Zhen Tian shrugged.
“We’ll just have to create the Ten Demon Warriors and that’s it.”
By now, the ship had almost reached the island at a very low altitude.
Liu Lianyung, who was deep in thought, nodded.
“I see.”
* * *
Bu Eunseol opened his eyes.
As he slowly stood up and looked around, his expression became strange.
It was due to two reasons.
“Wounds.
He had wounds all over his body, large and small, and he had fainted as soon as he had passed through the transference hall.
But now, he was meticulously stitched up, his gaping wounds, torn open by the swordsman, and bandaged with golden poultices.
He’s in no pain and seems to be in good health, so it’s likely that the venerable Heng Lin himself healed him.
‘He must have gotten on a boat and gone somewhere.’
The second reason I was surprised was that I was lying in a cabin on a ship.
All around me, boys and girls in various states of undress were staring at me.
Some of the faces looked familiar, and I realized that they were probably participants who had been selected because of their good physical condition.
“…….”
Buunsul pushed herself upright, but the looks on the faces of the boys and girls in the cabin were not good.
An occasional look of curiosity, but mostly disdain and contempt.
‘I’m used to the stares.
A normal person would have felt a little embarrassed by the stares.
But Bu Eunseol had been scorned by more people than she could count in her lifetime of dyeing.
Even if hundreds of times as many people were staring at her, it didn’t bother her at all.
Kuung.
Just then, a low vibration sounded, followed by a low voice from outside the cabin.
“Disembark.”
The boys in the cabin slid off the ship in a mechanical motion.
The desolate landscape of the island was revealed before them.
“This place.”
Someone muttered, and the black-clad warrior leading the boys at the front spoke up.
“Hell Island.”
Hell Island.
It was a fitting name for the landscape.
A great stone mountain with not a blade of grass or a single tree planted in its center, inaccessible without a boat.
Looking at the desolate island landscape, I felt like I had stepped into hell to pay for my sins in life.
“What are you looking at?”
The black-clad martial artist in front of him tapped Bu Eunseol, who was standing dazedly behind him, on the shoulder.
“Move quickly.”
At that moment, Bu Eunseol’s pupils widened.
“This much?
The shoulder that the black-clad martial artist had struck was not only flesh but also muscle.
And yet, his shoulder had healed so completely that he didn’t feel any pain from the blow.
-If you don’t die, there is a practice here that can heal even the most severe wounds.
This was a very important fact.
And only Bu Eun-sul, who had survived the Jikan, knew.
“This is your lodging.”
The snake-like procession arrived at the large stone mountain they had seen as they disembarked from the boat.
Upon closer inspection, the stone mountain was dotted with numerous caves.
“Man made. No, it can’t be.’
The stone mountain was too big to be man-made, and the caves were too numerous to be natural.
“Put away all your old clothes and armor, and take the clothes and swords here, one by one.”
The black warrior pointed to a wide table beside him.
On the table was a large pile of drab robes.
It didn’t come in many sizes, but it had laces to cinch the waist and arms, so it could be worn somehow.
Next to it lay an ordinary iron sword that could be purchased at the forge for twenty gold pieces.
“Enter the cave as you wish. The choice is yours.”
Huddle.
As soon as the black-clad warrior finished speaking, the boys in the line quickly grabbed their clothes and ran to the cave.
The location and structure of the cave were different at first glance.
The difference between a pleasant cave and a dirty cave is huge. It might take time to clean it, or it might be too dirty to even try.
After all, you’re there to relax, so you want to make it as nice as possible.
‘Cave…….’
But Buunsul was in no hurry to get to the top of the stone mountain.
He was staying in a single room in a pacifist’s house on the outskirts of Bujung, and he didn’t care where he went as long as he could rest his body.
“This must be nice.”
“I thought it would be humid in a cave, but it’s quite pleasant.”
The cozy, spacious cave was already occupied by the fastest participants.
The problem was that the few remaining caves were jostling for position.
“Hey, I’ll take this one, why don’t you give way?”
“I think this one should be mine, because I’m a girl.”
As the argument escalated, one of the lesser boys pointed to his cave.
“Don’t fight. I’d rather go somewhere else.”
As Bu Eun-sul watched, her eyes flashed back to Yi Chai.
“They don’t know what’s in the jianguan!
What if they did know the contents of the jade guan? What if they knew the outcome of that bloody fight?
It wouldn’t be such a gentle conversation.
But the participants here were all dressed in lavish attire, and even some of the boys had an air of elegance or nobility about them.
“Are they all descendants of famous families?
Bu Eunsul suddenly realized a frightening fact.
If she thought about it, most of the people who remained in the Jayguan were either self-taught martial artists or members of the Military Fire Sect.
In short, they were the ones who didn’t mind dying.
Puddle.
Bu Eunseol gritted her teeth.
“I’ll let you live.
She could still see the faces of the dead in the hall in her mind.
Even the fairness of death was discriminatory.
“You still haven’t chosen.”
He heard a low voice behind him.
He turned to see the black-clad warrior staring down at him with solemn eyes.
“You’ve been slow since before.”
Bu Eun-sul bowed his head, and the black martial artist held out his hand.
“We’re running out of time. Decide quickly.”
“Then…… will be the place.”
After examining the cave one by one, Bu Eun-sul pointed to the farthest corner.
There were piles of dirt and filth, and the entrance was narrow, requiring them to crouch low to get in.
“You’re going in there?”
The boys around him sneered.
It’s not a nice place, but there are many other caves that are more pleasant than that one.
But why would I want to go into a dirty, narrow cave?
“You must like dirty places.”
“Maybe he’s used to dirt since he’s wearing a robe.”
Despite the sneers from the others, Buunsul continued to walk boldly into the cave.
Then the black man’s eyes flashed.
“You must be Kiki.
The cave she’d chosen looked dirty and cramped, but it actually had many advantages.
The entrance was too narrow to be ambushed, and there was a large enough space inside for him to practice alone.
Not only that, but the lack of light made it possible to get a good night’s sleep.
“When you’re done, come out.”
The black man’s words brought the cave-dressed candidates back out into the clearing.
“There are ten rooms set up in this jigoku where you can learn the martial arts of the ten martial arts.”
The black man swept his gaze to his left.
“You can learn them all, or you can choose one. It is your heart.”
The boys were stunned.
Of course, even if they couldn’t learn all of them, wouldn’t it be good to learn the ten martial arts?
“You are also free to work.”
The black man unfolded a large parchment on the table.
It was a map detailing the locations of the ten guard stations in Hell City.
“If you want to sleep, sleep,” he said, ”and if you want to learn martial arts, learn martial arts.”
The faces of the gathered participants lit up.
They could practice whatever martial arts they wanted, and they could spend their time freely without a set schedule.
“Something’s wrong.
But Bu Eun-sul’s expression turned cold.
‘They are cruel people who have planned to destroy the contestants.
There was no way they would allow the Ten Demon Warriors, whose fate was at stake, to train in such an open-ended manner.
“Then, good luck.”
With those words, the black man turned and disappeared into the distance.
“Let’s go.”
The assembled participants looked at the map, and most of them ran in one direction.
That was where the Hua Wu Sword Gate, the most powerful of the Ten Doors, had set up a training center for those who wished to learn the art of absolute swordsmanship.
“I’ve mastered the dao, so I’ll go to the Blood Flame Dao.”
“I’ve long wanted to learn the White Horse of the White Horse Master.”
“I’m a master of the art of craftsmanship, so I’ll go to the Demon Palace.”
“They say that the poisonous balls of the Infernal Blood are harmless to the human body.”
Some of the boys chose a martial art similar to the one they had mastered.
Soon, all the participants gathered in front of the stone mountain had disappeared, leaving Bu Eunseol alone.
“What I need to learn now is not ascension martial arts.
Bu Eun-sul had never learned systematic martial arts.
And she doesn’t know what will happen in the Hell City.
Staring blankly at the parchment with the locations of the martial artists, Bu Eunseol’s eyes flashed.
There, there, there.
She started walking north, toward the direction where no one went.
She arrived in front of a small mausoleum.
“This place is unrelated?
The black man had said that there was an official guard.
But when she arrived, she found no official residence, just a mausoleum in the middle of a deserted field.
“Excuse me.”
Bu Eun-sul looked around and approached the mausoleum.
“Is anyone here?”
She asked.
The ground in front of the house moved like the skin of a boat, and a large head popped out of the ground.
“What the hell.”
It was a wolf, its eyes torn into the sky, its cheeks and sideburns covered in spiky whiskers.
When he poked his head out of the ground, he looked like a single wolf.
“I’ve come to learn Nangyagak’s martial arts.”
At Bu Eun-sul’s words, Sana frowned and asked.
“You’re here because you want to become a Ten Demon Warrior?”
“That’s right.”
“Then go.”
The arrogant man muttered.
“It’s a waste of time, even if you’ve mastered the martial arts of the main hall, so don’t waste your strength.”
“A straightforward man.
Bu Eunseol knew that.
The Nangya Pavilion had fallen to such a state that it was barely worthy of being a member of the Ten Doors.
Still, it occupied its place at the top of the list because of its glorious past, when it had produced so many great masters.
“But I need Nangyagak’s martial arts.
Bu Zhanyang taught me how to identify the cause of death of a corpse, and told me many stories about the Wulin schools and characters.
Among them, of course, was the story of the Ten Commandments.
“I will learn the martial arts of Nangyagak.”
“You must be joking.”
Despite Bu Eun-sul’s adamant reply, the master yawned in annoyance.
“And don’t be mistaken. You don’t have an infinite amount of time to learn martial arts in Hell City.”
The man yawned once more and let out a snort.
“If you understand, go learn martial arts somewhere else. Don’t waste your time.”
“I’m going to learn Nangyagak’s martial arts.”
Bu Eun-sul said seriously.
“Please teach me martial arts.”
The master looked at her puzzled.
“Why? If you want to, you can learn the sword art of the Hua Wu Sword Gate, which is the strongest martial art among the ten martial arts, and if the sword is not for you, you can learn the Blood Flame Dao, which is comparable to the Hua Wu Sword. You don’t need to learn the martial art of the main hall.”
At the man’s question, Bu Eunseol smiled.
“Survival comes first.”
“Survive?”
“The Martial Art of the Ten Doors is not something that can be learned in an instant.”
Bu Eunsul narrowed her eyes.
“I’ve heard that if you master the Nangyagak Martial Art, you’ll have the toughest life force in all of heaven.”
Sana smirked.
“That’s right. The main hall’s martial arts begin with the transformation of the body, and in order to use them, one must have a body that is stronger than anyone else’s.”
Sana looked solemn.
“But that’s not all. Just because you have a tougher life force than others doesn’t mean you can become a martial arts master. Do you understand?”
“I understand.”
“I’m glad you do.”
As the man tried to put his head back into the ground, Bu Eun-sul bowed low.
“Please teach me the martial arts of Nangyagak.”
Bu Eun-sul’s eyes burned as brightly as the sun.
“You’re crazy…….”
Sana realized that Bu Eun-sul was not joking, but was sincere in her desire to learn Nangyagak’s martial arts.
“Good.”
“Thank you.”
Bu Eun-sul was about to bow again, but the man held out his hand.
“Do not be mistaken. I’m only teaching you by order of the master.”
“I see.”
Thrummed.
Just then, the ground around him melted like ice, slowly revealing the man’s body embedded in the ground.
Kwoosh.
The man who rose from the ground looked twice as broad in the shoulders as an ordinary man, and he was close to seven chucks tall.
“Nine out of ten people die while practicing the martial arts of the main hall.”
“I see.”
When Bu Eunseol’s eyes didn’t waver, the man bared his fangs and smiled bloodily.
“Name.”
“Bu Eun-sul.”
“No, your name is only Nangyagak Trainee Ilho. Do you understand?”
Sana said, his mouth watering.
“Although I don’t know if you’ll ever have a second name.”
“I see.”
Bu Eun-sul nodded, and the man pointed his thumb at his face.
“This body is Sau, the secret master of Nangyagak. From now on, you will call me Elder Sa.”
