Chapter 60

Chapter 60

* * * * *
‘Wait. Where do ogres and trolls live?
Outside the village, Ming Hu had a sudden thought that stopped him in his tracks. All he knew was that the Broth Mountains were full of boss-level monsters.
“I’ll have to ask, won’t I?”
Ming Hu went into the village and learned about the location of the ogres and trolls. Once outside of the village, Ming Hu headed straight for the Qinglang Forest. He knew that there was an ogre colony near the Qinglang Forest.
After traveling down the great river through the wolf habitat, Ming Hu soon arrived at the Qinglang Forest. Upon arrival, Ming Hu went straight into the forest.
“There it is!”
After a while, Ming Hu was able to spot a huge rock. It was an unusual rock, black all over.
“This was it, right?”
Sigh
Ming Hu muttered to himself as he touched the black rock, then turned to the right and began to walk away.
Jumbled
“I should be out of here by now.”
-Currrrrrrr!
After turning and walking for a while, Ming Hu heard the roar he had been waiting to hear as soon as he finished speaking.
Dada Dada Dada
Ming Hu quickly ran to where he heard the roar, and when he reached it, he smiled.
-Currrrrrrr!
A four-meter ogre was uprooting a giant tree about his size, and next to him was another tree that had already been uprooted, and judging by its tattered appearance, it was being uprooted for a new weapon.
-Currrrrrr!
With a mighty roar, the tree revealed its roots. It was then. Ming Hu’s eyes lit up and he cried out.
“Moving Strike!”
Ming Hu quickly moved behind the ogre with a moving strike, then quickly dodged to the side in case it fell.
Puck!
-Cure…
Thump!
The ogre began to slowly fall backwards along with the tree. At the sound of a thud, Ming Hu immediately began searching the ogre’s corpse for dropped items.
-You have mastered Ogre’s Tendons.
-You have mastered the Heart of the Ogre.
“Two for such a big guy…”
Ming Hu looked at the dropped item and muttered to himself. The ogre’s size made the dropped item look very shabby.
“Let’s go.”
Ming Hu started walking again in search of the ogre.
“This is going to take a while, right?”
Ogres don’t travel in packs. I could usually catch one, maybe two, and it seemed like it would take quite a while to get the ingredients.
“But quests aside, materials are the problem. When are we going to collect 100 tendons–”
At first, I wasn’t too worried, but when I got there and started hunting and saw the time, I became quite concerned. Even if a tendon comes out with every catch, that’s 100 animals.
-Currrrrrr!
-Currrrrrrrrrr!
Just then, Ming Hu could hear the ogre’s roar.
Dada Dada
Hearing the roar, Ming Hu quickly rushed toward the ogres, and he soon found not two, but three ogres.
-Courtesy
-Currrrrrrr!
“…?”
Seeing the three ogres, Ming Hu couldn’t help but feel a little panicked. Two of the ogres were fighting, striking and punching.
-curl…
And one of them was looking longingly at the two ogres. Ming Hu wondered what was going on, but soon realized what was happening.
“These guys…!”
A duel for the preservation of the race, a duel for posterity, two fighting ogres dueling for the possession of an ogre with a loving eye.
“Ha.”
Ming Hu let out a short sigh. His brow furrowed at the thought.
Swoosh!
White light glowed in Ming Hu’s fist. Ming Hu approached the ogres.
-Cure?
The first to spot Ming Hu was an ogre with tender eyes. The ogre’s roar caused the dueling ogres to stop fighting and look at Ming Hu.
-Cure!
The next ogre, a loving-looking ogre, looked at Ming Hu and roared. At that moment, the two ogres’ eyes flashed and they began to run toward Ming Hu.
-Courtesy!
Puck!
-Currrrrrr!
Puck!
Ming Hu frowned again as he watched the ogres rush toward him, pushing each other around as if they were trying to get to him first.
“I don’t think he’s going to…”
I had a feeling that the ogre behind me had said that he would play race preservation with whichever ogre got to him first.
Puck!
Ming Hu struck the ground. A white light seeped into the ground, and soon the earth rumbled with a magnificent sound.
Woohoo!
-Crunch!
-curl?
Two ogres rose into the air. Ming Hu ran toward the ogres, who were looking puzzled at the sight of the ogres rising out of thin air.
“Moving Strike!”
When Ming Hu was about 10 meters away from the ogre, he quickly moved in front of it and attacked it with a moving strike.
Puck! Thump! Thump!
As the ogres fell from thin air, the prize of the duel, the ogre, began to slowly collapse.
Thump!
Ming Hu immediately began circling the ogre corpses and collecting items.
-You have mastered Ogre’s Tendons.
-You have mastered the Heart of the Ogre.
-You have mastered Ogre’s Tendons.
-You have mastered Ogre’s Tendons.
“…Hmm.”
Ming Hu looked at the items he’d acquired and let out a short, muffled grunt.
“It seems to be coming out less than I thought.”
The quest ingredient, Ogre’s Heart, seemed to drop at a lower rate than expected.
“You can’t collect until you’ve collected 100 tendons, right?”
Ming Hu smiled and muttered something mischievous, and then began to move on to the next ogre. Little did he know, until then, that he had a prophetic streak. that he had a prophet’s temperament.
* * * * *
The central square of Demesne.
“I’m buying a rush item! I’ll take the best price.”
The Golking was still buying items from the vendors, but something was wrong. The users trading around him were staring at him with frowns on their faces. That was it.
“Oh, hello, Golking!”
A female user approached Golking. Golking recognized her and smiled at her.
“Ooh, hello Lara’s.”
“How are you faring?”
“My punishment… the guilds are awesome.”
Users who had been frowning at Golking and Laras’s story snorted in disbelief and frowned even more.
“What happened to the guy who sold hundreds of items back then?”
“Oh, him?”
Golking looked a little disappointed. Then he opened his mouth to speak.
“I’ve seen portals go places, but that’s about it.”
“Too bad, if only I knew where it was.”
“I know, haha.”
“Well then, I’m off to make some money!”
“Yes! Have fun making money!”
With Laras gone, Golking resumed his business. Not long after he began trading, one of the frowning users around him approached Golking.
“Excuse me.”
“Yes.”
“Isn’t this too much?”
“What is it?”
The Golking’s face already had a wicked grin on it. The user saw the smile and frowned even more.
“They’re manipulating the market!”
“Ha… what’s that, market manipulation?”
The Golking said in disbelief. The users around him clicked their tongues and shook their heads at the Golking’s words and behavior.
“Make items more expensive for guilds, make them more expensive, and make money that way?”
“Ha, that’s ridiculous.”
Golking snorted in disbelief at the user’s comment, then glared at the user and said, “You’re right.
“Hey, watch your mouth. Market manipulation? One wrong word and you’re out of the game forever.”
“This…”
“Are you leveled up, do you have any connections, do you think you know what guild we are? If you want to keep playing, just keep quiet… Huh?”
“…”
The user was speechless.
“And if you’re right, we’re taking a huge risk… You think your gear is a dime a dozen? Get lost.”
“…”
The brave user eventually went back to his seat without saying a word. He then logged out and disappeared in a flash of light.
“…”
“…”
A chill ran through the air. Despite the chill in the air, Golking soon smiled and opened his mouth to speak.
“I’m buying a rush item! I want the best price!”
* * * * *
-You have mastered Ogre’s Tendons.
“Again…ha.”
Ming Hu let out a short sigh. The Ogre’s Heart had a much worse drop rate than he’d expected.
“It’s been a while since I’ve had 100 tendons.”
You’ve already collected the 100 tendons needed to make the Ogre Power Gauntlet, or OPG. The problem was, you needed a heart to complete the quest.
“Nineteen… Just one. I just need one more.”
The total number of hearts you’ve collected so far is 19, one short, but that doesn’t mean the quest is over. Ogre hearts are part of the quest materials. You still needed to collect 20 Troll Blood and 5 Giant Ogre Hearts.
-Currrrrrr!
Just then, Ming Hu heard the now-familiar roar of an ogre. Ming Hu moved at breakneck speed.
“Moving Strike!”
Puck!
-Cure…
Thump!
After killing the ogre in a flash, Ming Hu quickly checked the item the ogre had dropped and smiled.
-You have mastered the Heart of the Ogre.
“Ah…finally…”
Ming Hu closed his eyes in appreciation. He finished picking up the ogre’s tendons and looked around.
“Giant ogres…? You said they live there, right?”
Ming Hu muttered to himself and began traveling to the giant ogre’s habitat to retrieve its heart. After a while, Ming Hu began to hunt giant ogres and realized something. The hearts of ogre monsters are not easy to come by.
