Chapter 38

Chapter 38

“It was a game. Ha.”
When Ming Hu enters the room after the chit-chat, he chuckles briefly at the realization that the debt he was worried about was gaming money.
Sigh
“…”
Then he pulled out a bankbook from deep in his chest and stared at the amount on it without saying a word.
Jumbled
Ming Hu then closed the passbook and walked to his desk.
Sigh
He leaned down and tucked the passbook deep into a compartment under his desk, then stood up and turned around to face the capsule.
“…Let’s go break some quests.”:
Ming Hu muttered something to himself and began to walk toward the capsule.
* * * * *
Woof, woof, woof
Ming Hu, who had logged out of the auction house, heard the cries of his fellow players as soon as he logged in, quickly purchased a travel scroll and walked to the corner.
Siaak
He then opened a portal to Himise through the ring and traveled directly to Himise, smiling slightly at the tranquil landscape of Himise, unlike the auction house, and opened the quest window.
<Tilto's Favor1
Tilto is building something these days. But to make it, he needs the steel claws of a monster fox, which are as hard as steel. Capture the monster foxes, collect their steel claws, and bring them to Tilto!
[Monstrous Fox's Steel Claws: 0/30]
Difficulty Level: D
Quest Reward: ???, Tilto's Favor2
"Maybe I should have saved one of the claw keys then, they don't come out that well."
After confirming the quest, Ming Hu muttered in a slightly disappointed voice. To capture the monster fox, he had to go to the Gumiho Forest, but the claw keys needed to get there were hard to come by, and he'd gotten rid of all of them.
"Oh well. I'll hunt it down and get it, even if it takes a while."
But it was too late. Ming Hu decided to hunt down the claw key, no matter how many there were, and set out.
Jumbled
"Oh…!"
But Ming Hu stopped walking after only a few steps, turned toward the shop, and began to run quickly, heading out of town.
"Do you want to stay?"
You sold your claw key to a store a while ago, some time ago, but not a lot of time. There was a good chance that you still had some claw keys left.
"Stay!!"
Arriving at the shop, Ming Hu quickly entered the store and rushed to the counter.
"Welcome!"
I walked into the store and was greeted by Fern.
"Do you happen to remember that I sold you the claws of the great fox a while back?"
"I remember!"
"And do you remember the enchanted claws?"
"Yeah, it's been so long I can't remember that, haha."
"If you do, do you still have those claws?"
"Do you mean the disenchantment?"
"Yes."
Ming Hu swallowed hard as he answered Fern's question.
"Please stay.
He hoped Ming Hu would be there, because if he wasn't, he'd have no choice but to go hunt the Great Fox as planned, but if he was, it would save him time.
"There it is. Give me a minute."
Ming Hu breathed a sigh of relief at Fern's words. He smiled when he saw the claw key Fern had just pulled out.
"Since you sold it, I'll give it to you for 35 gold, the same price you sold it for. Can I have one?"
"Yes!"
Ming Hu hands over 35 gold to Fern and receives the Claw Key, which he places in his inventory.
"Goodbye."
Ming Hu smiled, bowed, and walked out of the general store.
"Now let's go… Wait."
Once outside, Ming Hu stopped walking toward the village and opened his inventory when he had a sudden thought.
"I'm down to less than 700 gold…"
Of course, it was a lot, but for Ming Hu, who had over 25,000 gold, it was no longer a lot in some ways.
"I still have a lot of items left in the Mugu store… should I just make some money and break the quest?"
There was no time limit, and quests could be completed at any time, but the number of items for sale in the marketplace was never the same. Of course, if there were no buyers, the number would increase rather than decrease, but that was anyone's guess.
"Yeah, let's get paid and break the quest!"
Finally, Ming Hu was ready to break the quest and began to walk toward the Mugu Store.
"But… I don't think you have any swords, and you're selling mostly bows and crossbows?"
As Ming Hu walked to Mugu, he thought about what to buy and sell, knowing that eventually he would buy and sell everything, but that he couldn't buy that many items with the amount of gold he currently had.
"Once you do, let's start with the bow."
Unsure of what to buy or sell first, Ming Hu couldn't decide until he arrived at the Mugu store.
Jumbled
Once inside the machete shop, Ming Hu walked over to the familiar display of bows. He looked at the bow options and started to walk over to the counter.
"I'll calculate it all at once."
"…"
Tilto said nothing at Ming Hu's words. Ming Hu quickly began to draw his bow.
Sigh
"665 gold"
Ming Hu, who had come to the counter with the bow, stopped walking to get it again at Tilto's words, took the gold from his inventory and handed it to Tilto. He then began to put the bow back into his inventory.
"What happened to what I asked for?"
Tilto asked Ming Hu. Ming Hu finished putting the bow back into his inventory and opened his mouth to answer Tilto's question.
"It might take a while, but we'll get it to you soon!"
"Okay. Please."
"Yes, I'll see you later."
Ming Hu said so and walked out of the Wu Gu shop, pulling a scroll from his inventory and tearing it up.
Siaak
Arriving at the main square of Demesne with the light, Ming Hu looked around for a user who was buying an urgent item, but for some reason, he didn't see any.
"I'll have to go to the auction house."
Ming Hu eventually started walking toward the auction house. That's when it happened.
"Uh. Hey. Is that you?"
"…?"
Ming Hu saw a user blocking his way and talking to him.
"Huh? That time.
The moment he saw the user's face, Ming Hu realized who this user was who had blocked his way.
"It's called golking, remember me?"
"Oh."
Of course he remembered. He'd bought himself his first sword, and he'd gone through a lot of swords.
"But to what end?"
But Ming Hu was puzzled as to why the Golking had blocked his way, and asked, "Why?" The Golking smiled and opened his mouth to speak.
"I was wondering if you had any items for sale like you did back then."
"…!"
As soon as he heard the Golking's words, Ming Hu realized that he didn't need to go to the auction house. Ming Hu smiled and opened his mouth to speak.
"Yes, I have 20 bows."
"Oh! A bow? Can I see it?"
Golking quickly made a trade offer at Ming Hu's words. Ming Hu accepted the trade and began listing the bows he had purchased in the trade window, starting with the least desirable options.
"Wow. Nice options!"
Golking muttered to himself as he looked at the eight bow options that had come up, and then opened his mouth to speak with a slight glance at Ming Hu.
"How much do you think?"
"Oh, I'm trying to sell it to people who buy emergency items, usually around 130-140 gold."
"Oh, so. Mmm."
At Ming Hu's words, Golking looked a little wistful, thought for a moment, and then opened his mouth to speak.
"How about 135 gold each? 8 total for 1080 gold"
"Good."
At 135 gold each, it wasn't a bad price. Ming Hu pressed confirm when the Golking posted 1080 gold to finalize the transaction.
"I have 12 bows left, do you want to finish buying them? I have better options than the ones I just posted."
"Oh. You mean something better than what we just had?"
"Yes."
"…Let's see."
Ming Hu emphasized that he had more options than the 135 gold he had just sold for. By saying this, it was clear that he was willing to pay a bit more than he had just sold.
"Hmm. How about 140 gold a piece?"
Sure enough, five gold. Ming Hu smiled and nodded, and at 1120 gold, he hit confirm to finalize the transaction and sell the remaining four for 140 gold.
"Anything else you'd like to sell?"
"Yes, for now, but are you sure you want to stay here?"
"Ah…yes."
Ming Hu smiled at Golking's answer.
"Well, I'll see you later."
He then left the center square and began walking quickly to the corner. As Ming Hu walked to the corner, he opened his inventory to check for gold.
'2760 gold. That's more than four times the price.
After just one sale, I more than quadrupled the amount of money I had.
Siaak
Soon, Ming Hu reached the corner and immediately opened a portal to Himise.
Jumbled
"Should we stick to bows again? No, we can't just sell bows, so let's mix in crossbows."
Ming Hu muttered to himself as he walked to the ballpark. Once again, the mutterings were about what to buy and sell.
Jumbled
"I'll calculate it all at once."
Once inside the shop, Ming Hu turned to Tilto, who was looking at him, and walked over to where the bows were displayed, checking out the options and quickly bringing them to the counter.
"1330 gold."
"I've had enough of bows, I'm going to get a crossbow.
Ming Hu checked the crossbow's options and began to bring it to the counter as he had been doing all along.
"2750 gold"
"Here."
After handing Tilto 2,750 gold, Ming Hu began to inventory the bows and crossbows stacked on the counter. The inventory was filled with 40 bows and 45 crossbows.
"See you later."
Ming Hu stepped outside, pulled out a travel scroll, and tore it open.
Siaak
Arriving back in Demesne's main square with the light, Ming Hu looked around for the Golkings.
"There it is!
Finding the Golking soon enough, Ming Hu quickly approached him.
"Oh, you're back again? Did you happen to have something to sell in the meantime?"
"Yes."
Ming Hu nodded and placed the trade with the Golking. He then placed eight bows on the trade window.
"Wow, another bow. How many do you have?"
At Golking's question, Ming Hu looked at Golking wordlessly and smiled.
