Chapter 386

Chapter 386

“What the hell happened, huh?”
Orsay’s condition didn’t look good.
Except for one horn, which was broken.
The scar running at an angle from his chin to his left eye was the mark of a facial bone cut.
It was as if I hadn’t suffered enough for the world to end.
“It’s a total beast.”
Most noticeable was the hideous flesh oozing over his shoulders.
Goosebumps.
The only thing that radiates from the red glow is unending hatred.
This guy wasn’t the overpowered idiot I thought he was.
Recognizing Orsay in hindsight, Letancier let out a parrot-like scream.
“Ma, ma dragon!”
“You’re Le Tansiero.”
“Mr. Ronan, that’s the Resistance’s leader of the Action Force! Come on–aah!”
Suddenly, the window on the ground was pulled out roughly.
A furious Le Tansier snapped his fingers.
The black spear returned to Orse in the same trajectory it had traveled.
“Hmph—.”
I thought it was going to throw it back, but it didn’t.
Suddenly, Orse’s chest began to swell.
A puff of air was being sucked into his mouth.
I could hear the subtle sound of flint being pounded.
“Die, witch.”
Suddenly, Orse’s lips parted below his ear.
A fireball roared deep in its serrated, toothy gills.
It wasn’t hard to predict what would happen next.
Kaaaaaah!
The flames that once ignited an empire have burst forth.
“Anyway, I’m pissed off.”
Your vision is colored red.
The swirling flames were raining down like an avalanche.
I glance to the side and see Letancier calmly chanting a spell.
The last few days of battling the baldies had brought back some of my combat senses.
Five telekinetic shells were forming around her.
‘Why do you only work hard when it’s like this, Won.’
She’s a woman with bad timing.
I didn’t think Orsay would die from that, but you never know.
I slammed the back of my hand down on her concentrating neck.
“Eek!”
“Go to sleep.”
Letancier rolled his eyes and collapsed.
Mana that has stopped condensing has been dispersed into the atmosphere.
The dragon’s fire was now at a boiling point.
I tugged on the hilt of my sword in silence.
Diagonal crossed swords drew over the flames.
Snap!
The quartered brass lost its shape and scattered.
We weren’t done yet.
I immediately lowered my sword and assumed a defensive stance.
Ka-bang!
There was a crashing sound that was too intense to prepare for.
Hiding behind the flames, the spear that had flown in was caught in the belly of the sword and rained down.
Orse, holding the spear, frowned.
“That’s it—!”
“It’s wild. It’s good, but it lacks sophistication.”
“Who are you?”
“Hehe, are you finally in the mood to talk?”
I swung my sword in a sweeping motion.
The bounced Orse landed in a swallow turn.
I could feel my life sinking a bit.
Slowly lowering my sword, I met his eyes.
“My name is Ronan. I’ve been looking for a resistance group to fight against the fucking Bald Legion. Pleased to meet you.”
“I’m not in the resistance.”
“What?”
I thought, what the hell is this?
Letancier clearly said that Orsay was the leader of the resistance.
I just saw him bombing the roots right now, and I’m like, what’s wrong with him?
The question was quickly answered.
“I do what I want to do. Don’t treat me like a bunch of worms bowing down to Navarrozze. All the titles of Commander-in-Chief or whatever, they’ve just been thrown around.”
“——Oh, I see.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle.
His pride remained intact even after the world ended.
I felt like an asshole, but I was also very happy.
I think there’s a side of Orsay I know left.
Orsay pointed his spear at Letancier.
“You’re in league with that witch.”
“Not at all.”
“Then why did you keep him alive? I’m sure you didn’t bring him along without knowing who he was.”
“Oh, it’s no big deal, I have to ride it. I don’t have wings like you guys, so I’m like a giant talking flying squirrel.”
“—You took the Archbishop of the Nebula Order as your mount?”
Orse’s eyes narrowed.
Dragons and humans are no different from each other in panicking when faced with a situation that defies common sense.
I nodded lightly.
“It’s like. I’ll make sure he doesn’t get into trouble, but can’t you cut him some slack? I know it’s tempting to tear him to shreds, but he’s more serviceable than you think. You could put a dog collar on him and–
“If you kill her, I don’t intend to take you with me. If you don’t belong to the Order, you can go fuck yourself.”
“Ha–what’s the problem?”
“It’s dangerous. There’s no guarantee that someone who can compete with me won’t harm others.”
“You’re ridiculous. You’re not even in the Resistance and you’re worried about the people around you. You’re in the Resistance after all, right?”
I burst into pure laughter.
Orsay’s face hardened instantly.
After being paralyzed for about ten seconds, he blushed.
“——Do you want to die?”
“Oh, that’s so funny. You actually sleep there and eat there, don’t you? I don’t think the Resistance has a headquarters, and I don’t think you’re the kind of guy who’d shit in a Resistance toilet.”
“Kaaaah!”
Orse, impatient, screamed.
His blurred body shot out in a gust of wind.
I positioned myself with a smile on my face.
I was expecting this to happen in the first place.
Conversations between powerful males were usually conducted with their bodies, not their words.
“Let’s rekindle our friendship, and then we’re going to visit your big boobed sister, I hope she’s well.”
“You think you can get to Navarordje!”
Orsay leaped.
Its back ripped open and a pair of black wings unfurled.
The sky was solid white, like an ink drawing of a black flower.
A spear wrapped in flames is about to be thrown at me.
Kaaaaaaaaaah!!!
A harsh binge erupted from the roots in the distance.
“Ma’am, what is it?”
“——!”
The flames that engulfed the window are extinguished.
Me and Orsay turned our heads almost simultaneously.
A huge magic circle floated in the sky just above the roots.
Three giants descended from beneath the glyphs, which cackled as if they were alive.
“Duaru says. “What kind of wretch has done this?”
Soon after, a booming voice rang out.
Reflexive anger takes over.
Muscles swell and senses become heightened.
Judging by his ramblings, he wasn’t out to get me, he was convinced that his roots had been attacked.
Ouch!
Fire and smoke were blown away by the high winds generated by the flapping wings.
The roots have reappeared.
“Ah.”
Orse sighed.
The roots were intact.
It was charred throughout, but seemed to be functional.
Only the smallest pinky’s transmitter tower flickered faintly, indicating an anomaly.
Phew!
Suddenly, the hole in his palm spat out white gas.
A pale mist extends out in all directions.
Roots on land, unlike those in the sea, spit out powder.
A disgusting mixture of fecal matter that turns the earth white.
Orse gritted his teeth.
“—Failed.”
The engaged teeth made a clicking sound.
They already don’t care about me.
A shadow of despair had fallen over his once arrogant face.
The giants were scurrying around, looking for the culprit who had caused the damage to the roots.
Orse looked back at me.
“Let’s save the best for last.”
“What?”
“I will come for you. Make sure you stay alive.”
Your voice lacks power.
I doubted my ears.
I never thought I’d ever see an orchestra that didn’t play.
Of course, I knew it was inevitable.
Orsay can’t beat them.
It was a strategic retreat that would get them killed.
Orse’s tightly clenched fists exuded both anger and helplessness.
I said to myself.
“That sucks.”
I couldn’t stand this situation.
I didn’t bend over backwards to help my sister-in-law when she was in a slump for nothing.
The pride of the mighty had to be preserved.
The only thing that could depress my friend was his lifelong goal, the Mother of Fire, not some hemorrhoid that popped out of nowhere.
“Hey. Wait.”
“Hmm?”
Orse turned his head.
The four wings came to a halt.
I said, keeping my eyes on the giant.
“I’ll clean it up, and if you’re going to go, let’s go together.”
“What?”
“I’m going to kill those bald assholes, so take me to your house.”
“What nonsense are you talking about?”
Orse growled.
The life that had been dormant boils up again.
For good reason.
It was going to sound like bullshit no matter how well I played it.
I didn’t say we’re going to crush the roots, I said we’re going to kill the giant itself.
But I wasn’t bluffing.
Instead of answering, I stomped my foot on the ground and jumped up.
The sky is falling on me.
Their eyes met, and Orse flinched reflexively.
“What the—!”
“I’m borrowing your back.”
Self-explanatory.
I leaped once more, stepping on Orse’s shoulder.
Unable to overcome the backlash, Orsay tumbled to the ground.
“Ugh—!”
That was a lot of power.
I flew toward the giants in a near-straight parabola.
The distance closes in an instant.
I don’t recognize two of them, but I do recognize one.
Hundreds of feathers were falling from both wings, transforming into a giant of light.
The asshole who nearly destroyed the dragon city of Adren.
I called his name.
“Hey. Duaru.”
“Hmm?”
Duaru turned his head.
At the same time, my body passes through him.
Snap!
A blue line is drawn over the bold neck.
The head that slid along the cut surface spun and shot up.
Come to think of it, I was with Orse when I killed him in the original world.
Ah, memories.
“Duaru?”
“You can’t be-”
The other two were horrified when they realized I was there.
It’s not even worth responding to.
I wordlessly brushed the blood from my sword.
Dozens of blue lines were revealed over the bodies of the two giants.
He elbowed one of them in the back of the head and turned.
It was a moment of landing on Root’s palm.
Pooh-pooh!
The lines that had been drawn over his body opened up at once.
It adds a bit of blue to the blank drawing board-like sky.
The world of enemies and millions becomes more beautiful.
Rin muttered in a playful voice.
“Tough guy.”
I don’t answer.
We’re not done yet.
Turning toward Finger, I swung my sword in a wide arc.
A red, wide crescent moon shot out.
The sharpest sword in the world slices through four fingers that are still intact.
Kaaaaaah!
At the same time, the crossed fingers collapsed onto the field.
Chunks of meat began to fall like hail from the air.
The pounding of the iron had replaced the sound of the rain.
It took maybe 10 seconds.
“What is it, when did you get here?”
That’s when I felt a familiar tapping on my head.
I looked up and saw Orsay, completely dazed.
Judging by the time of day, it seemed to have followed me as soon as I took flight.
He’s a nice guy, though.
Orse, who had been doing this for a while, muttered mesmerized.
“You’re a— the hell—.”
“We’ll figure that out later. We’ll get to know each other.”
A thick, blue rain came out and drenched his face.
It was hot and smelled fishy, but I couldn’t be bothered to clean it.
I said to him, flicking my wet bangs out of my face.
“Take me home. To your house.”
