Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Ming Hu was embarrassed by the bear’s first strike.
“That’s not a pre-emptive mob!
As far as Ming Hu knew, the bear wasn’t a pre-emptive mob, but it had just attacked him by assuming an attack stance.
“Did you feel threatened? Did you build this much detail?
I thought it was ridiculous. No matter how good the A.I. is, it feels threatened?
-Currrrrrr!
Ming Hu’s thoughts were interrupted by the sight of the bear flying through the air and plummeting toward him.
Boom!
Ming Hu landed on the ground and quickly rolled to the side. As soon as he rolled to the side, the bear passed by where he had fallen. Ming Hu saw it coming and quickly got to his feet. He was just in time to avoid the bear’s secondary torso punch.
-Currrrrrrr!
The bear roared loudly in excitement as the attack failed.
“I’m down 700!
Staring at the roaring bear and checking his remaining health, Ming Hu swallowed hard as he was hit in the torso for 500, dropping to the ground for 200 health.
Considering Ming Hu’s total health is around 3800, that’s a lot of health for one attack.
-Currrrrrr!
The bear roared once more and lunged at Ming Hu. Ming Hu looked at the bear as it lunged at him, dodged to the side like the Spanish bullfighters he’d seen on TV, and then swung his sword.
Squeak!
Ming Hu’s sword struck the bear. But the bear was not a cow.
Puck!
“Billion!”
The bear flinched for a moment at the attack, then swung its front paw at Ming Hu. Ming Hu was hit by the front paw, bounced a few times, and then got up.
‘300…’
I checked his health and saw that his front paw attack had taken 300 health.
“That’s dangerous.
The first bear you hunted took 10 attacks to kill. Assuming you and the first bear you hunted had the same amount of health, you could have exchanged blows and killed yourself first.
-Cool!
ugh
Ming Hu gritted his teeth as he looked at the bear charging toward him.
“Hard flesh! Fury!”
[Defense increases].
[Attack Speed and Movement Speed].
Boom!
-Woof!
Is it because of his increased movement speed? Unlike before, Ming Hu narrowly avoided the attack and slashed his front foot.
-Cool!
The bear roared, pulling back its front paws. Then it swung its front paws at Ming Hu in a series of angry swipes.
Boom!
The first forefoot strike was dodged, and the attack was successful. But the second strike was unavoidable, and Ming Hu swung his sword, expecting to be hit.
Puck! Squeak!
Ming Hu was hit on the front foot and stumbled back a few steps. He was hit with one punch, then two.
“That’s good.
After checking his health, Ming Hu breathed a sigh of relief. Whether it was his increased armor or the sword slash that had weakened his front paw’s offense, his front paw attack, which had cost him 300 health, had dropped to 200.
‘If things keep going the way they are…’
Ming Hu swung his sword, dodging the bear’s attacks as best he could. After ten successful attacks, Ming Hu checked his health as the bear let out a roar of pain unlike any he had ever heard before.
“…dangerous.
He dodges, but his health is below 1000. If it had only been a front paw attack, it wouldn’t have been so close. The problem was the torso strike, which was still powerful. How much health did the two body blows take off?
“Coming!
-Currrrrrr!
Ming Hu swallowed hard as he watched the bear run toward him. It was nowhere near the speed at which he had been running. There was no way he could dodge it.
“Strike!”
Ming Hu thought that if that was the case, he would make the best of the deal, so he struck a blow at the bear.
Squeak!
The bear paused for a moment at the blow, then charged at Ming Hu.
“…ugh!
Ming Hu saw the bear approaching and prepared to fly into the sky. But as soon as he touched the bear’s body, he realized that it was weak.
Dodak
Ming Hu quickly took a few steps backward.
Thump!
The bear fell forward and made a loud noise.
“…after”
Ming Hu looked at the fallen bear and breathed a sigh of relief. Then he checked its remaining health. It was indeed a close call.
Shake!
“I’m losing my gin…I’m losing my gin.”
Sinking into his seat, Ming Hu looked at the bear’s carcass and muttered to himself. It couldn’t be compared to a rabbit or a fox. This was a real battle.
-You have mastered the bear skin.
-You have mastered the bear’s gallbladder.
Ming Hu thought as he picked up the items.
“He’s stronger than the first one.”
When I reached level 8, I lost about 1,000 health from two headbutts. Now I have more defense and health than I did then, and the first bear I hunted took more health than the first one, so I thought it might be a different animal, like the fox. But when I looked at the item, it was just a stronger bear than the first one.
“But it came out this time?”
Ming Hu smiled. I’ve caught them before and collected 60 of them, but unlike the rabbit’s liver, the gallbladder’s drop rate seemed to be decent.
“Ouch!”
After resting and regaining some of his lost health, Ming Hu stood up and began to look around for the bear again. There were only two gallbladders now.
* * * * *
Shake!
[Level Up!]
When the bear fell and the level-up message appeared, Ming Hu stopped hunting.
-You have mastered the bear skin.
-You have mastered the bear’s gallbladder.
“That’s really good.”
Picking up the dropped item, Ming Hu muttered to himself as he looked at the gallbladder entering his inventory. Unlike the rabbit’s liver, the gallbladder was really good. Nine out of ten of them dropped gallbladders.
“Let’s see… 32 now. 32.”
After checking the number of gallbladders, Ming Hu opened the quest window.
<Hamur's Bottle 2

"My gallbladder is fine, but…"
Ming Hu muttered as he checked the quest. As Ming Hu muttered, the gallbladder was no problem. The problem was the great fox. Before coming to the bear colony, Ming Hu had circled the fox colony, but he hadn't found the great fox. Of course, he didn't see them because they wouldn't stay where they were, but if it were for any other reason, it would be quite troublesome.
"We'll see."
After a while, Ming Hu stopped thinking about the great fox and got up and started looking for the bear. There was a bear wandering around about 50 meters away.
"Let's get the gallbladder together."
Ming Hu muttered to himself and approached the bear. The quest was not yet complete; he needed to collect his gallbladder.
Scoop!
-Woof!
Approaching the bear, Ming Hu brandished his sword and began the hunt.
Whistle! Scurry! Puck!
I swung my sword, dodging the bear's attacks with ease. Of course, I didn't dodge every attack, but I was able to kill the bear fairly reliably, unlike the first time, which was a close call.
-Kueng…
whisk
-You have mastered the bear skin.
-You have mastered the bear's gallbladder.
After a few rounds of fighting, the bear fell. After picking up the items it dropped, Ming Hu went back to hunting for more bears in the area. This cycle of killing, picking up, killing, and picking up was repeated over and over again until he had collected the 60 gallbladders needed to complete the quest.
"There's still some time…"
But when Ming Hu saw that he had quite a bit of space in his inventory, he was torn. Should he return to the village and complete the quest, or should he hunt more to fill up his inventory?
"Let's fill it up."
Ming Hu pondered for a moment, then muttered to himself and began to move in search of the bear.
* * * * *
-Kueng…
[Level Up!]
-You have mastered the bear skin.
-You have mastered bear meat.
After picking up the item that dropped with the level up message, Ming Hu checked his inventory.
Swoop
Ming Hu couldn't help but smile as he looked at the items in his inventory: 140 gallbladders that sold for 10 silver apiece, all other items aside. Not counting the 60 he needed for the quest, he had 80, plus the bear skin he'd forgotten about, which was a town specialty… the only one!
"…"
Ming Hu, whose mind was on the gallbladder, said nothing as he looked at his inventory, which was stacked with 150 bear skins, Himise's only specialty. He just smirked.
"Let's change weapons!"
Staring at his solid iron sword, Ming Hu exclaimed and opened his character window.
Name: Ming Hu

The hunt gave him a small boost to his Strength, Dexterity, and Health, and he had 60 Bonus Stats after leveling up six times. Ming Hu was about to invest the bonus stats in health when he looked at the items he could change, thought better of it, and closed the character window.
"Let's go!"
Ming Hu walked toward the village, happily imagining himself at the armory, where he would change his weapons. As he walked and walked, he passed through the bear habitat and eventually arrived at the fox habitat.
"What should I replace it with?"
Still happily imagining what weapons he would purchase, Ming Hu was forced to stop his imagination and stop walking by what he saw.
"…"
Ming Hu looked at the fox before him. The fox was indeed huge. It was not a big fox. It was not even comparable to a big fox. Ming Hu muttered to himself as he looked at it.
"The Great Fox…"
The big fox was obvious.
